Pope Francis has met with Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Orban as he restarts international travel after having intestinal surgery in July.
The Pope is only in Hungary for a few hours, where he is celebrating Mass in front of thousands of people. The meeting with Orban was expected to highlight differences between the pontiff's views and Orban's nationalist and anti-migration policies.
It's the pontiff's first international trip since having intestinal surgery in July. Thousands gathered with little to no COVID-19 restrictions to hear him celebrate Mass. After Mass, the Pope moves on to a three-day trip in Slovakia, where he will meet members of the Jewish and Roma communities.
