This evening, Sophy will be looking at Lord Mark Sedwill evidence at the COVID inquiry. Lord Sedwill was asked about criticism that COVID was "the wrong crisis" for former prime minister Boris Johnson's "skill set".

His former top aide Dominic Cummings had described Mr Johnson as a man prone to "oscillate" - that is, change his mind - and "be unable to manage a cohesive team".

Asked if he agrees, Lord Sedwill says he "recognises" this characterisation - "but I wouldn't express it that way myself".

He adds that Mr Johnson's working methods are "exhausting for the people in his inner circle," but says his job was to "make sure we have a mechanism around that"
