An internal affairs investigation has been launched after a Sunrise Police sergeant was caught on bodycam, putting his hand on another officer’s throat. That’s according to the Sunrise Police Chief Anthony Rosa.

Footage of the incident, which took place on November 19, shows responding officers trying to put a suspect in the backseat of a police car.
As the detainee started to resist the attempts, Sergeant Christopher Pullease got into a verbal altercation with him.
When another officer approached Pullease from behind and pulled him away to de-escalate the situation, the sergeant pushed his colleague back, holding her by the throat. Pullease has been relieved of supervisory responsibilities and the investigation is reportedly ongoing.
