Police revolt after murder charge 'disappoints me', head of National Black Police Association says

Andy George, the president of the National Black Police Association, says he is "sad and disappointed" that armed officers in the Met Police have refused to go to work this week after a colleague was charged with the murder of Chris Kaba, a black man shot in a car last year.

Mr George says it's a "privilege and a heavy burden" to be an armed officer, but they need to be subject to "scrutiny".

He never fired his weapon on duty, he says, but that he and his colleagues knew what would happen if they did.
