PM declines to say if Sturgeon resignation is a blow for Scottish independence

The prime minister paid tribute to Nicola Sturgeon for her long-standing public service but has insisted voters want to see the Scottish government and Westminster "working constructively together on the priorities that really matter to people".

Mr Sunak went on to admit that while he and the First Minister "did not agree on everything" they did successfully work together on freeports for Scotland.
