Pelosi reflects on “most beautiful” Biden-Harris inauguration ceremony

U.S. House Speaker Nancy Pelosi on Thursday reflected on what she called the "most beautiful" inauguration ceremony, themed on unifying the country, of President Joe Biden and Vice-President Kamala Harris, which took place on Wednesday.

The inauguration marked the first time a woman, and a woman of Black and South Asian descent, took to America’s highest office, being Harris.

The day also featured a star-studded lineup of performances from the likes of Lady Gaga, Jennifer Lopez, Garth Brooks and more.

Following the violent Jan. 6 insurrection at the Capitol, troops in riot gear lined the streets of the nation’s capitol, but there were no crowds. Armored vehicles and concrete barriers blocked the empty streets around the U.S. Capitol. The inauguration wrapped up without any severe security issues, according to reports.
