As many students in Ontario continue to study from home as they have for most of their school year because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the isolation from friends, disruptions from classes, and not being able to attend important social events or rites of passage like graduations, proms or sporting events, has impacted teens' mental health and their families.

In February, SickKids released troubling results of a survey showing 70 per cent of children and youth ages six to 18 experienced harm to their mental health during the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic.
