Pakistan election: Nawaz Sharif says he will seek to form coalition

First he claimed victory, but now Pakistan's former prime minister Nawaz Sharif says he will seek to form a coalition government after independent candidates linked to his jailed rival won more seats in Thursday's election.

Imran Khan was ousted as prime minister in 2022, jailed for corruption, and his party was barred from running. But with most results in, candidates he backs have won 95 seats compared to 66 for Nawaz Sharif, who was in prison for corruption himself during the last election.
