This week, evidence will be heard for the first time in the trial over the shooting down of Malaysia Airlines flight MH17, seven years ago.
Three Russians and a Ukrainian national are accused of the murder of almost 300 people, but the defendants will not be there to hear the claims against them.
Proceedings will continue until early July, with the families addressing the court in September in what is expected to be a long, harrowing process.
