'Overkill' campaigners disappointed by proposed sentence changes

Campaigners had hoped the government would increase sentences in cases where women were violently killed.

Carole Gould - mother of murdered teenager Ellie Gould - has campaigned for increased prison terms for violent offenders.

It has now emerged that the government is only planning to add around two years for aggravating factors like use of excessive or gratuitous violence.
