According to the information received, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and some other prominent opposition leaders are unavailable for the meeting, in such a situation, the idea is to hold it on a later date in consultation with the main opposition party, so that they too can participate in it. Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin was also finding it difficult to attend the June 12 meeting due to his pre-scheduled programs.

विपक्षी एकता के लिए सीएम नीतीश कुमार (Nitish Kumar) काफी प्रयास कर रहे हैं. इसके लिए कुछ महीनों से लगातार देश में दौरा भी कर रहे हैं. 12 जून को विपक्षी नेताओं की बैठक (Opposition Unity Meeting) की तिथि तय हो गई थी लेकिन एक बार फिर यह बैठक अधर में लटकता दिख रहा है. इसको लेकर मीडिया के सवाल पर सीएम नीतीश कुमार ने सोमवार को कहा कि 12 तारीख को जो बैठक होने वाली थी वो अभी नहीं होगी. बैठक में सभी पार्टियों के प्रमुख को शामिल होना चाहिए. ये सहीं नहीं होगा कि बैठक में कोई और प्रतिनिधि शामिल हो. हमने कांग्रेस (Congress) को भी कहा है कि आप भी आपस में बात कर तय कर लीजिए, उसके बाद जो भी तारीख तय होगी, उस दिन बैठक होगी.विपक्षी दलों की पटना में 12 जून को होने वाली बैठक टाल दी गई है. मिली जानकारी के अनुसार कांग्रेस नेता राहुल गांधी और कुछ अन्य प्रमुख विपक्षी नेता बैठक के लिए अनुपलब्ध हैं, ऐसे में मुख्य विपक्षी दल के साथ परामर्श कर इसे बाद की तारीख पर करने का विचार है, ताकि वे भी इसमें भागीदारी कर सकें. कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे और द्रमुक मुन्नेत्र कषगम (द्रमुक) के नेता एवं तमिलनाडु के मुख्यमंत्री एम.के. स्टालिन भी अपने-अपने पूर्व निर्धारित कार्यक्रमों के चलते 12 जून की बैठक में शरीक होने में कठिनाई महसूस कर रहे थे.
