The Ontario government is failing to disclose the names of “high-risk” foster care and group homes to children’s aid societies – the organizations responsible for placing kids in care.
Global News has learned this as part of its ongoing investigation throughout this past year into the state of the child welfare system in Ontario.
“If you are a young person going to live in a group home, let’s say, shouldn’t you know that there’s concerns about the home and what those are before you go there?” said Dawn Flegel of the Sarnia-Lambton Children’s Aid Society.
Global’s Carolyn Jarvis has that story.
