After months of COVID-19 cases, hospitalizations and deaths, Ontario saw a yet another glimmer of hope when it reported no new deaths in a 24-hour period on Wednesday.
Since the pandemic started, there have been too many funerals for people not wanting to die. Hospitals and health-care workers have been pushed to the limits trying to keep people alive, but the death toll has been in the thousands with long-term care residents, essential workers and many more vulnerable people.
But as Katherine Ward reports, that number finally stood still and with more vaccines getting into arms, the pressure on the health-care system in the province may finally be lifting.
