The Ontario government plans to introduce legislation that will allow patients awaiting a bed to be transferred to 'temporary' long-term care homes while they await space in their preferred home, to ease pressure on the health-care system. It will also make 300 beds previously used for COVID-19 isolation available for people on wait lists.
