Kamran Shahid engaged in a debate with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said Wednesday that Pakistan would fulfill its commitments made to the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to secure a short-term financing deal, helping the cash-strapped nation avert a default in the near future.

A staff-level agreement on the $3 billion stand-by agreement (SBA) was reached between the local authorities and the IMF team, with the lender's executive board to give final approval on July 12.Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) senior legal counsel Hamid Khan Wednesday claimed Nawaz Sharif's disqualification as prime minister was decided elsewhere, and Supreme Court's verdict was used just to legitimise it.

"Dawn leaks had taken place [...] and if we look at the events that follow it in chronological order, then we can understand that the decision had been made to dismiss Nawaz," he told Dunya News'
