Ohio Gov. Mike DeWine ordered residents near the site of a massive train derailment in East Palestine to evacuate on Monday amid the risk of a 'catastrophic' explosion at the site and a planned control release of chemicals.
DeWine warned residents closest to the site they face severe injury including skin burns and serious lung damage and are in "grave danger of death" if they did not evacuate ahead of the planned release of hazardous chemicals from the train.
The train derailed near the border of Ohio and Pennsylvania on Friday night, causing a massive fire in the area. Fire, police and hazmat teams responded from three different states to control the massive blaze.
No one was injured.
