Discussion on Current Political and Economic Affairs: IHC reserves verdict on admissibility of Tosha Khana case

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Thursday reserved its verdict on the appeal challenging the admissibility of the Tosha Khana case.

The decision is expected to be announced tomorrow.

Tomorrow's hearing will also determine if the move to reinstate the right to defense can be heard in the trial court.

Additionally, the court's decision on the request to transfer the case of the PTI chairman to another court will also be made.

IHC Chief Justice Mr Justice Amir Farooq reserved judgment after considering the arguments presented by both parties and reserved the decision on eight petitions related to the PTI chairman.

NA approves Anti-Money Laundering Act

The National Assembly approved the National Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism Act 2023 on Thursday.

The prime minister will appoint chairman of the authority.

The Governor State Bank, Chairman Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP), Chairman National Accountability Bureau (NAB), Director General (DG) Federal Investigation Agency (FIA), DG Anti-Narcotics, Chairman Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), DG Financial Monitoring Unit, three secretaries including Interior, Finance and Foreign Affairs, the DG and Coordinator of the National Anti-Terrorism Authority will be part of the authority.
