Bola Ahmed Tinubu has been elected Nigeria's new president following a bitterly contested campaign, but the parties which lost are rejecting the results and plan to contest the results in court.

The nation’s electoral commission says just 29 per cent of the 87 million people eligible to vote showed up to the polls.
