Niger’s military-appointed Prime Minister is visiting Chad just as the regional bloc ECOWAS pushes for a return to constitutional order.
But there has been a rise in attacks since the military took power last month – including one on Tuesday that killed at least 17 Nigerien soldiers.

Al Jazeera’s Ahmed Idris reports from Katsina near Niger’s border with Nigeria.
