A team in Argentina has discovered a new dinosaur species, known as the Meraxes gigas, and according to the findings had similar qualities to the well-known Tyrannosaurus rex, including its tiny arms.
Not only did the researchers discover one of the most complete skulls of a large meat-eating dinosaur ever, but it was also a species that had never been found before. It was named the Meraxes after a dragon in the "Song of Ice and Fire" book series due to the way it "rolls off the tongue."
As Mike Armstrong explains, the creature predates the legendary T-rex by almost 20 million years and evolved separately from big headed and small-armed dinosaurs.
