Since the news leaked about what Hamas has suggested on Friday afternoon, reports emerged from Israel that there will be a cabinet meeting on Saturday evening.

But on Saturday evening, news came that the meeting will be postponed to Sunday or Monday. At the same time, War Minister Yoav Gallant has called for a meeting with his security leadership.

Mahjoob Zweiri, the director of the Gulf Studies Center at Qatar University, considers the meeting to be significant as it sends a message to Netanyahu that there are alternative voices within Israel that deserve attention. These voices, Zweiri believes, are the ones addressing real issues.

He notes that Gantz has already stated that the government should exhibit flexibility or propose ideas to address Hamas's proposal. Additionally, Zweiri mentions another politician, Gideon Saar, who seeks inclusion in the war cabinet and has criticized the government for lacking clear direction.

Saar asserted that the military lacks a clear target and described the war as endless, which, Zweiri suggests, dealt an internal blow to Netanyahu. Zweiri observes that Netanyahu aims to avoid appearing as if he is conceding to Hamas and prefers for decisions to be made by the war cabinet, with proposals then presented to the broader cabinet.
