Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met on Wednesday on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Speaking with Trudeau, Zelenskyy said, "We need your support and I am sure that we will have it."

The meeting in the Lithuanian capital took place as Ukraine’s armed forces struggle to make significant progress in their counteroffensive against Russia — amid the two countries’ ongoing war.

Though other NATO leaders have said in a declaration that "Ukraine's future is in NATO,” there is yet to be a given timeline for that.
