Nasser Hospital siege intensifies as Israeli forces seal it off: AJE correspondent

The conditions at Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis are increasingly perilous for both medical personnel and the numerous displaced individuals taking refuge there without alternative shelter. Israeli military directives mandate urgent evacuation, destroying the hospital's northern entrance, and rendering it impassable with debris and sand barricades. The hospital compound has transformed into a battleground, witnessing widespread destruction of nearby structures and thoroughfares. Amidst the chaos, soldiers indiscriminately target individuals, even healthcare workers, leading to casualties strewn across the courtyard, notably those who followed evacuation orders. Inside the facility, the situation is dire: vital resources such as fuel, medical supplies, and oxygen are depleted, rendering surgical procedures impossible. Moreover, the absence of electricity exacerbates the crisis, resulting in sewage flooding within the premises.
The Israeli military says “Hamas continues to conduct military activities” in Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis and “the place was used to hold hostages”.
Israeli drones have ordered people to leave Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis but Doctors Without Borders (Medecins Sans Frontieres, or MSF) says those sheltering there are afraid to leave after reports people have been shot.
