Multiple tornadoes were reported across the U.S. state of Mississippi on Sunday, uprooting trees and downing power lines in its path.

Residents in Tupelo woke up to scenes of destruction on Monday after multiple homes were damaged as the tornado passed through the city, police warning people to stay at home as they assess the damage.

In Byram, residents reacted to the storm that destroyed homes in their neighbourhood and left them without power.

No injuries were reported, more storms and possible tornadoes are forecast for parts of the state on Tuesday.
