Mount Etna, the most active volcano in Europe, erupted on Sunday in Sicily, Italy, illuminating the night sky in a mesmerizing display.
Following the increased activity, Italy's National Civil Protection Agency said the volcano has entered the pre-alert phase, which signifies a high likelihood of imminent lava fountaining.
