More young Americans now in hospital with COVID-19 the result of vaccine hesitancy, misinformation

The United States is starting to see a familiar trend in this pandemic, as a growing number of young Americans are being hospitalized due to COVID-19.

About 35 percent of hospital admissions in the U.S. now consist of adults in their 20s, 30s, and 40s, while vaccination rates are now dropping 500,000 a day nationwide.

This even as the U.S. cleared the 50 per cent mark for total number of adults vaccinated just a day after the reported global death toll from the coronavirus topped a staggering 3 million, according to totals compiled by Johns Hopkins University, though the actual number is believed to be significantly higher.

As Jennifer Johnson reports, vaccine misinformation and hesitancy are fueling problems, as the supply begins to outpace the demand.
