More than half of young women in Canada say they fear for their safety when engaging in activism, according to a new Plan International Canada report.

The same survey also found that one third of young women in Canada have reduced their participation in activism due to the rising cost of living.

To mark International Day of the Girl Child, Farah Nasser speaks with Plan International Canada youth ambassador Alisha Aslam about why girls are shying away from advocacy and the potential solution to solve this.
