It's another "last of" that's being closely watched in Germany as the Merkel era comes to end. For what is likely to be the last time on Thursday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel is set to address the German Parliament on the next meeting of the European Council.

Among the topics to be discussed at the EU summit will be climate protection and international solidarity in fighting the Corona pandemic by sharing vaccines. Foreign policy issues, such as a strategy toward Russia and the implementation of the trade and cooperation agreement with Britain, will also be discussed.
