The preliminary post mortem report on Thursday of the two Dalit girls who were found dead in their field on Wednesday night has confirmed: "death due to poisoning".

The tragic incident in Uttar Pradesh's Unnao district in which two minor girls were found dead on Thursday morning has triggered a fresh round of face-off between the Congress and the ruling BJP.

Congress has alleged that the police are trying to cover up the incident and not providing proper treatment to the lone surviving victim, and even demanded that the autopsy of the two deceased be conducted in AIIMS.
