Protests against a judicial overhaul are still taking place in Israel, despite Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announcing a monthlong delay to the legislation.
The now-deferred plan has provoked some of the biggest demonstrations in the country's history, with 600,000 Israelis turning out overnight after Netanyahu fired his defence minister, Yoav Gallant.
The sacked defence chief had warned that the plan created deep divisions in Israel that were threatening to weaken the military and imperil Israel's national security.
The country was crippled by a general strike on Monday.
