Toronto police say a 40-year-old woman is dead and two others were injured, including a toddler, after a two-vehicle crash that shut down a portion of the Gardiner Expressway on Thursday morning.

Police said the crash happened at around 2 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the expressway near Jameson Avenue. At around 7 a.m., the eastbound lanes of the Gardiner Expressway reopened.

Vance Kong, 48, has been charged with dangerous and impaired driving causing death and failing to remain at the scene of a collision after the fatal crash.
