In Maldives, preliminary results show opposition candidate Mohamed Muizzu is leading the presidential election.
With two-thirds of the ballots counted, Muizzu is projected to receive 46 percent of the votes - meaning the country will go again to the polls for a run-off later this month.
There were long lines outside polling stations before they opened, but observers said that they expected the election to proceed smoothly.

Al Jazeera’s Tony Cheng reports from Male, Maldives.
