Counting is under way in Guatemala after a hotly contested presidential election dominated by concerns over corruption and the cost of living, with the polls expected to go into a second round run-off in August.
Entry to polling stations closed at 6.00 pm local time (00:00 GMT) on Sunday with preliminary results expected from 9:30pm (03:30 GMT).
Many Guatemalans expressed disappointment the options for president after the authorities excluded three opposition candidates. A large number of null ballots were expected, and experts said it could depress turnout.
