The Malaysian government said Sunday it is pushing for a renewed search for Flight MH370, a decade after it vanished from radar while travelling from Kuala Lumpur to Beijing.

“As far as the Malaysian government is concerned, we are committed to that search, and the search must go on,” said Malaysian Transportation Minister Anthony Loke Siew, during a ceremony commemorating the missing flight.

Malaysia, China and Australia ended a fruitless two-year, $200-million underwater hunt for the missing plane in January 2017. In 2018, Malaysia offered marine robotics company Ocean Infinity up to $70 million if it could find the plane.

Loke Siew said Malaysia would talk to Australia about resuming the search once Ocean Infinity’s proposal is approved by Malaysia’s cabinet.
