Talks with lenders on restructuring $2bn of Argentina's debt have been put on hold following the appointment of a new economy minister in the country.
Silvina Batakis, sworn in just days after the sudden resignation of her predecessor, takes office as the government struggles with an economic crisis.
Argentina is faced with high inflation - about 5 per cent a month - and a change in the economy ministry generates uncertainty which can lead to more inflation.
Argentines are used to living in crisis, having dealt with one every other decade.
