After 22-year-old Mahsa Amini died in the custody of Iran's "morality police" on Sept, 16, protests around the world against the regime are gaining more momentum.

Amini had been arrested for allegedly wearing a hijab improperly. This is all happening as Canada announced new sanctions against Iran on Monday, with the promise of more action to come.

Several European countries are pushing to European Union to do the same.

While past protests against Iran's government have not resulted in change, as Heather Yourex-West reports, there's more optimism this time.
