One year ago, the city of Winnipeg partied like it was 1990.

That's because in 2019, the Winnipeg Blue Bombers won the Canadian Football League's (CFL) Grey Cup, the first time that had happened in 29 years.

The Bombers ended their long championship drought by winning the 107th Grey Cup final, beating the Hamilton Tiger-Cats 33-12 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary.

And then came the party.

It was the kind of bare-chested, beer-downing, roaring celebration you might expect for a team that put an end to a nearly three-decade Grey Cup drought.

The Blue Bombers paraded their Canadian Football League championship trophy for 90 joy-filled minutes through downtown Winnipeg streets Tuesday as thousands of fans, many dressed in blue and gold, cheered, clapped and hollered.
