At Lucknow's designated electric crematorium for Covid-linked deaths, a line of ambulances and a long wait, sometimes stretching for hours, are what mourning families encounter. The situation has emerged as COVID-19 cases and casualties have risen in the Uttar Pradesh capital. Four municipal corporation employees put in 17 to 18-hour continuous work shifts almost every day. It takes hours for one cremation to be carried out with Covid protocols. Yesterday, there were 24 cremations that went on till 4:30 am today.
