In the city of Al Bayda in Libya, survivor Ahmad al-Hawal was walking on rubble and sweeping the muddy floors of his house damaged by devastating floods.
The whole area where Hawal resided was "uninhabitable," he said on Friday, leaving some 12 families of his neighbours without shelter.
"My life before was stable... I had my house and my family, but now there is nothing, there is no life anymore." Hawal added.
A catastrophic flood from storms that broke through two dams killed thousands of people and swept many out to sea in the country on Sunday, in the worst natural disaster in Libya's modern history. As of Sept. 15, the death toll is reported to have hit at least 11,000.
