Ipsos polling done exclusively for Global News shows the Liberal Party’s lead has softened slightly heading into a possible election.

The poll shows that if an election were held today, 36 per cent of eligible voters would cast a ballot for the Liberals, while 30 per cent would vote for the Conservatives and 20 per cent would choose the NDP.

“The question of whether or not the Liberals, if an election were held tomorrow, would form a majority is very much in the air,” says Darrell Bricker, CEO for Ipsos Public Affairs.

Forty-two per cent of those polled approved of the job done by the Liberal government, while 58 per cent said they’d like to see a change in Ottawa.
