Liberal Democrat leader Sir Ed Davey has expressed his support towards Commons Speaker Sir Lindsay Hoyle, saying he ''did his very best'' and "handled himself very professionally".

He also told Sky News that what happened "did not show parliament in a good light", saying there should be "mature, grown-up politics'' on issues as important as Gaza.
