A day of solemn memorial in Lebanon has turned into protests, as people marked a year since a huge explosion at Beirut's port.
The explosion killed more than 200 people, and left thousands injured or homeless.
Angry protesters scuffled with riot police in central Beirut on Wednesday, as the demonstrators tried to storm the parliament. Riot police responded by firing tear gas and water cannon and beating demonstrators with batons.
The country is still waiting for answers, while the state has been in political and economic chaos.
