More than half a million people have died from the coronavirus in Latin America.
The busy holiday season has led to a rise in cases in many countries. And a slow roll-out of vaccines is making the situation worse.
Securing vaccine supplies has been a big challenge for the region compared with the wealthier nations. That is why the governments in the region are enforcing lockdowns once again despite the economic impact.
