Larabanga Ancient Mosque: History of the oldest mosque in Ghana

Larabanga being a Muslim-dominated community in the West Gonja Municipality of the Savannah Region is endowed with rich culture. As the home of the oldest Mosque in Ghana, Larabanga is globally recognized and respected for its enviable tourist sites including the Larabanga Mystic Stone, the Ancient Mosque and the Mole National Park. Today however we're focusing on the Spiritual Boabab Tree and Ancient Mosque. The focus of this story will be on the 500-year-old spiritual tree and the Ancient Mosque built-in 1421 using ordinary clay mud mixed with grass and supported by wood beams from the area.
