The new government says it will shut down the Conservative's controversial Bibby Stockholm barge.

The vessel had been used to house asylum seekers while their claims were processed.

Labour had described it as a "white elephant".

Axing the barge is part of an expected £7.7bn of savings in asylum costs over the next decade, the Home Office said.
