Russian President Vladimir Putin has admitted for the first time -- that the Wagner private military company has been funded by the government.
He said the group has been given a billion dollars of government money in the past year.
He's also thanked top military commanders, including Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu, for their actions during a short-lived mutiny by Wagner troops over the weekend.
At least eight people are dead and dozens more injured after a rocket attack in the eastern Ukrainian city of Kramatorsk.
Two missiles hit a popular dining area in the city centre.
