Hundreds of people are celebrating on the streets of Mali’s capital Bamako after the military announced it had taken control of the northern town of Kidal. It was the stronghold of Tuareg rebel forces who seem to be retreating. Fighters from the Russian Wagner Group took part in recapturing the town.
