Attorney General Merrick Garland invoked a personal anecdote of seeing Bonnie Raitt and a then-up-and-coming Bruce Springsteen while announcing the Justice Department's lawsuit to break up Live Nation.

"The Justice Department filed this lawsuit on behalf of fans who should be able to go to concerts without a monopoly standing in their way," Attorney General Garland said.

The Justice Department and 30 states filed a major antitrust lawsuit alleging Live Nation's unlawful dominance over the concert ticket sales industry.
