The staggering temperature left some Yakutsk locals bemoaning the wintery weather, with one woman describing the ‘awful’ conditions.

Other residents, however, greeted the -50 drop with hardy, even cheery stoicism, asking ‘what kind of winter can there be without frosts?’

That’s the spirit: just pour out a drink and stick on a version of ‘Baby, It’s Cold Outside’ that hasn’t yet been censored beyond recognition!
