Not gonna lie, ‘RoboGrandpa’ sounds like a great movie.

Alexander Osipovich, a scientist from Perm, Russia, has engineered a very special kind of family reunion. Using 3D printing and AI technology, Alexander has managed to build a ‘new’ version of his deceased grandfather and, by uploading seven hours of family footage into the robot, is able to have a simulated conversation with him.

The robot digitized the downloaded information, creating a database of questions and answers, and after learning his speech patterns it was able to talk in the voice of Alexander’s grandfather. The resulting conversation can be viewed in full on his YouTube channel, and it’s hoped that the technology could be life-changing for people struggling to come to terms with grief.

We’re not sure why he decided to go with a naked Terminator grandpa though.
